We’re really pleased to announce the actors who will be reading our stories at the 7 September event in the Fitzrovia Chapel…
“Fitzrovian Basmati” by Stuart Hotston will be read by Kim Scopes.
Kim is an actor, puppeteer, & theatre maker. Recent credits include puppeteering in the Emmy award-nominated A Critter Carol commercial for Apple, Dinosaur World Live! (International tour, Nicoll Entertainment), At Last (Proforca Theatre), The Tempest (TheatreSpace NE), The Magic Flute (Welsh National Opera), PETA – Red River Farm (Online Commercials), Justin’s House (CBeebies), Somewhere to Belong (UK TOUR,) The Lover (Mountview), Aaaaa (Proforca Theatre), Blue (Sycorax Collective), The Wider Earth (Dead Puppet Society) Becca’s Bunch (Nick Jnr) & A Christmas Carol (Sonia Friedman Productions, London West End). Kim is one of the co-creators of the Somewhere to Belong archive.
“FAQs About Conversion” by Emma Levin will be read by Patsy Prince
Patsy Prince trained at RADA & KCL. Film includes: God is Dead, The Bad Nun, Mummy Reborn & Culture Shock. TV includes The Lady Killers (Netflix) & Sold (ITV1). Theatre: Guests of Honour (Playhouse East), Growing Pains (Hope Theatre), The Moat (Network Theatre), Misfits (Space Theatre, nominated at The Asian Media Awards) & Voices from September 11th (Old Vic). She also co-hosted ‘Open’ a podcast on the Women’s Radio Station. In her spare time Patsy enjoys eclipse chasing & drinking martinis.
“Welcome to Fitzrovia” by Yen Ooi will be read by Rose Biggin
Rose Biggin is a writer and performer based in London. She has worked in live art, immersive theatre and plays. Most recently devising and performing in alt. opera Star Quality (Cockpit Theatre; BBC 6 Music; Resonance FM) and is currently rehearsing a new solo show, with a creative residency at Wilton’s Music Hall. She is the author of two novels, punk fantasy Wild Time (Surface Press) and gothic thriller The Belladonna Invitation (Ghost Orchid), and a short story collection Make-Believe and Artifice (NewCon). She is an associate lecturer in Creative Writing at Birkbeck.
“The History Bricks” by Stephen Oram will be read by Dan Starkey
Dan Starkey is an actor and voiceover artist, best known for the BBC’s Doctor Who and the BAFTA-winning children’s series Class Dismissed. He spent many hours in Portland Place – not to say the Yorkshire Gray and The George – as a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company. For many years he was a company member and occasional writer for the vintage comedy stage show The Fitzrovia Radio Hour, that had its inception on Rathbone Place. He’s also an improviser, having spent 50 hours on stage with the annual London Improvathon. Recent theatre includes The Government Inspector, Habeas Corpus, and the new play Outside Voice which was performed last year at the Soho Poly Theatre off Great Titchfield Street.
“The Joyful Playground” by Sumayyah Janan Rahman will be read by Katy Darby
Katy Darby directs Liars’ League & moonlights as an actress/performer when the stars align. She won the Ronny Schwartz Scholarship to the Oxford School of Drama & has published a novel & 50+ stories, including 12 Sherlock Holmes mysteries. She’s also co-edited four short story anthologies with Cherry Potts of Arachne Press, & teaches on the MA in Creative Writing & Publishing at City St George’s.
“Appendix Witness Interviews Transcripts” by Ana Sun will be read by the whole cast!
“A Tale for a Tourist” by Penny Walker will be read by David Mildon
David Mildon is an actor, playwright & founding Liar. His stories “Worms’ Feast” & “Red” were read at Liars’ League. His play Smoke & Mirrors was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in November 2025. Recent acting credits include Cyrano de Bergerac at the RSC and in the West End, & Juice on BBC3.
